March 24, 2026
The Riverwood Audubon Club hosted a presentation by Beth Brady, PhD, Director of Science and Conservation, Save the Manatee Club. In her talk, Dr. Brady took us inside the world of Florida’s manatees, their behaviors and lifestyle, as well as the challenges they face from sea grass loss, pollution and boating. The top expert in the specialized research field of manatee vocalizations, Dr. Brady shared some of her findings.
In her work with the Save the Manatee Club, Dr Brady presides over the organization’s extensive research, rescue and rehabilitation, advocacy and information programs. Save the Manatee Club is an award winning, national nonprofit 501c3 organization established in 1981 by the late singer Jimmy Buffet and the late U.S. Senator Bob Graham during his tenure as Florida Governor.
